Happy Lucky Derrick Khumalo Born on December 13, 1995, in Gauteng, Naicii RSA (real name) developed a deep connection to music at a young age, largely influenced by his family. Growing up in Jelori and later moving to Babsfontein, he found inspiration from his uncle, who often played hip-hop hits like Akon’s Lonely, and from his mother, who harbored dreams of being a musician and was a devoted fan of Brenda Fassie. Her passion for music, evident as she played the guitar and attended live performances, laid the foundation for Naicii’s future.

Starting as a dancer, Naicii’s love for hip hop flourished when he began writing lyrics in the mid-2000s, inspired by South African artists like Teargas (Another Chance) and F-Eazy. By 2011, he began his journey into songwriting, heavily influenced by Lil Wayne’s Carter 3, but his style evolved after discovering Emtee. Emtee’s creativity and approach encouraged Naicii to carve his own lane in music, focusing on originality over competition.

His breakthrough came in 2018 with the self-produced single Unswembu, which earned him local recognition and established him as a versatile artist in Trap and Amapiano. His ability to create music from scratch—crafting beats, mixing, and mastering—set him apart as a multi-talented artist. Over the years, he’s collaborated with Mekcy Beatz from Nigeria and local talent like Traveen Nhlanhla, further enhancing his cross-border influence in the industry.

Though music is his passion, Naicii works as a security guard, dedicating his free time to honing his craft. His music is grounded in storytelling, focusing on life’s everyday struggles, love, and personal growth. With a strong belief in music’s power to heal and inspire, Naicii’s long-term goal is to collaborate with major artists and make a living from his artistry.

Naicii’s upcoming projects include Hurt featuring Mekcy Beatz and Ikirivai featuring DJ Nkomza and Traveen Nhlanhla, showcasing his constant evolution and commitment to his craft.
